Les Champs Libres réunissent trois entités culturelles : - le musée de Bretagne, - la Bibliothèque de Rennes Métropole, - l'Espace des sciences.
Une programmation riche et variée est proposée : expositions permanentes et temporaires, documentation, conférences, débats, rencontres, animations, projections et concerts.

Les Champs Libres ont été conçus pour accueillir tous les publics, quel que soit leur âge ou leur état de santé (femme enceinte, personne avec une poussette, accidentée, convalescente ou âgée, déficiente motrice, visuelle, auditive, mentale ou psychique...).
De nombreux aménagements et équipements permettent l'accès, la circulation et le confort de tous dans chacun des espaces : maquette tactile et sonore, bandes de guidage, prêt de canne-siège....
Les Champs Libres proposent une programmation riche et variée : expositions permanentes et temporaires, documentation, conférences, débats, rencontres, animations, concerts ainsi qu'une programmation adaptée (rendez-vous interprétés en LSF, projections de films en audiodescription, visites tactiles...) et des collections spécifiques (livres sonores, DVD avec sous-titrages pour mal-entendants...).

Les Champs Libres is a cultural facility funded by the city of Rennes. It is composed of three institutions :
- The Britanny museum
- The Public Library
- The science centre called Espace des sciences

Due to a rich and diversified program, Les Champs Libres stands as a real crossroads of shared knowledge : permanent and temporary exhibitions, lectures, talks, performances, family activities, concerts, films…

Les Champs Libres has been designed and conceived to welcome all audiences, whatever their age or health condition (pregnant women, elderly people, injured or convalescent people, visitors with disabilities, blind or partially sighted people, deaf or hard of hearing people, visitors with developmental and learning disabilities or dementia…).

Les Champs Libres is committed to making its building, collections, programs and services accessible to all audiences. Our facility is committed to guarantee any visitor a full access, a free movement and a real comfort in every part of the building, thanks to our specialised equipment such as a tactile and audio scale model, numerous lifts, tactile ground surface indicators, induction loops, folding stools and a wheelchair available on demand…

Les Champs Libres offers a diversified program for French-speaking visitors with disabilities : lectures and tours with French Sign Language interpretation, verbal imaging and touch tours, audio described films screenings and also large print information in some of our exhibitions… A part of the Public Library collections is specifically dedicated to accessible items such as audio books, French hard of hearing subtitled DVDs ect… Assistance dogs are also welcome in the whole building.
